    Summary

    About the Position: Serves as an Information Technology Specialist in the Classified Computing and COMSEC Branch of the CyberChange Division, Cyber Security Directorate, Enterprise Army Corps of Engineers Information Technology (ACE-IT).

    Responsibilities

    • As an IT Specialist you will serve as a Regional Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Operating Account Manager (KOAM) responsible for accountability of enterprise COMSEC material and material.
    • Develop, implement, and coordinate COMSEC operations designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities Monitor and evaluate systems compliance with IT security requirements.
    • Provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.
    • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection.
    • Train and instruct Local Elements and users in matters pertaining to COMSEC keying material and equipment to ensure continuity of operations.
    • Adheres to all COMSEC policies and procedures in accordance to regulations.
    • Coordinate a variety of complex and unusual security issues with IT security officers for security vulnerability when there is not complete agreement on methods, procedures, or objectives.
    • Prepares all COMSEC maintenance forms, logs and reports pertaining to COMSEC material accountability.

    • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a TOP Secret clearance.
    • Incumbent is subject to pre employment and random drug testing.

    • Must obtain and maintain DOD 8570.01-M certification within 6 months of employment.
    • Must obtain and maintain IAT-I or equivalent (A+CE, Network+CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or greater) certification within 6 months of employment.
    • Must obtain and maintain Computing Environment (CE) certification within 6 months of employment.

    One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) operating and maintaining Communication Security equipment (COMSEC) material and equipment related to account operations AND 2) evaluating communication security data network and formats AND 3) directing program management of communication security AND IT related experience demonstrating each of the following: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication, 4) Problem Solving.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science.
