Former-President Barack Obama reportedly pressured 2020 presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden not to pursue a 2016 run for the White House.

An article published by the New York Times on Sunday say the former president “gently pressed” Biden not launch a campaign for the Oval Office, saying he believed Hillary Clinton had the best chance of winning.

The article cited Biden’s state of mind at the time, following the death of his son. The former vice president was also recently reported saying the president was “not encouraging.”

This revelation comes just days after Biden claimed to have told President Obama not to endorse him in the 2020 General Election.
