Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris is promising swift executive action to enact gun control if she wins in the 2020 election.
During a CNN Town Hall meeting Monday, Harris said she would bypass Congress and use her executive powers to strengthen gun control laws within her first 100-days in office.
“Upon being elected, I will give the United States Congress 100-days to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws, and if they fail to do it then I will take executive action,” she stated.

Harris wants to move toward universal background checks on gun purchases, and possibly holding gun manufacturers liable if their weapons are used for criminal purposes.
If Congress fails to act on gun violence within my first 100 days in office, here’s my promise to you: I will take executive action to keep our kids and communities safe. Add your name next to mine to join me in this fight:https://t.co/49OvRi9fUS
