TSX opens higher after Trump delays tariffs on Chinese imports

(Reuters) – Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Monday amid fresh hopes of a possible U.S.-China trade deal after U.S. President Donald Trump said he would delay raising tariffs on Chinese imports.

* At 9:34 a.m. ET (14:34 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 52.5 points, or 0.33 percent, at 16,065.51.
