VP Mike Pence delivers commencement speech to West Point’s class of 2019

Vice President Mike Pence delivers the commencement address to West Point’s class of 2019.

Saturday, the vice president congratulated the most diverse group of cadets to ever graduate from the military academy.

This was his second time officially visiting West Point, and his first time delivering a commencement address at the school.

West Point’s class of 2019 included a record breaking 223 women, including 34 African American women.

I couldn’t be more proud to stand before the class of 2019 that includes the highest number of African American women cadets in the history of the united states military academy.” Pence said.

Pence also recognized the one thousandth Jewish cadet, the five thousandth female cadet, and the highest number of Hispanic women graduates in West Point history.
