WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said he talked to Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido by phone on Wednesday and called again for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to go.
“Spoke with courageous Interim President @Jguaido of Venezuela by phone today,” Pence said in a Twitter post. “Told him America will continue to stand with Venezuela until freedom is restored! The people of Venezuela are suffering under dictatorship and oppression. Nicolas Maduro must go.”
