The wife of the missing former head of Interpol said she’s reached out to France’s president in hopes of getting help.

According to Monday reports, Grace Meng, the wife of Meng Hongwei, said she hasn’t heard from her husband since he traveled to China from France in September.

Officials in China said Meng is under investigation for bribery, and announced in October he was detained in the country.

In an interview Sunday, Grace said she’s been intimidated and fears for herself as well as her family.

“I’m afraid, because they (will) do anything, they have no bottom line,” she stated. “Even (if) I’m in France, they want to kidnap me and my children.”

Grace said she hopes President Emmanuel Macron can help her husband and protect their fundamental human rights. Macron met with Chinese President Xi Jinping Sunday ahead of a meeting in Paris between the two leaders Monday.
